who we are
Longwood Soccer Club
The Longwood Soccer Club is part of the Longwood Youth Sports Association (LYSA), a non-profit organization. We are committed to providing a superior inclusive soccer experience for all of our area’s youth by offering both recreational soccer and highly competitive travel team opportunities. This commitment is accomplished through an organization of volunteers and soccer professionals, who administer the training programs. We are a family-oriented soccer club that provides an opportunity to play organized soccer at the recreational, developmental and competitive levels for players at ages 3 – 19 years old. We offer challenging programs that place the focus on the development of the whole player within a team environment. Longwood Soccer is committed to providing the best tactical and overall athletic development for each individual player while offering players, their families and coaches an enjoyable soccer experience. We are dedicated to helping players reach their full potential while fostering a love of the game. It is our intent as an organization to promote and honor integrity, teamwork, perseverance, confidence and sportsmanship both on and off the field. We wish to provide well-organized soccer appropriately structured to accommodate any level of play commensurate with our players individual ability, potential, and interest and promote a positive youth sports culture that teaches life lessons and “Honors the Game” for all players.
Our home fields are located within the Longwood School District. Our In-House teams play on Sundays at the Longwood Middle School. This program begins with our Pee-Wee division at age 3 and continues into division D (U8). Our Interleague program begins with pre-travel divisions (U8) and (U9) and continues through U19. Longwood Travel Soccer teams offer a high level of competition for players that are ready to move to the next level of playing. Travel soccer begins at U10 and continues through U19.
Each year Longwood Soccer Club gives out college scholarships for graduating seniors in our school districts. To date the club has given out approximately $500,000 to graduating seniors heading towards college. These scholarships are in memory of the founding father of Longwood Soccer; Bruce Dickter. This year the Scholarship Committee expects to give out approximately $9,000 in scholarships. To apply for a Bruce Dickter Memorial Scholarship please fill out the application located here.
